Goodbye, Perfect
by Sara Barnard

Goobye, Perfect, was a surprisingly good book. The main author's friend runs away and goes into hiding with her boyfriend, who is also her teacher and twice her age! This is a crazy story that has many twists and turns. In the end they find Bonnie (the friend) and she's taken back home. The thing that surprised me is that the main character and Bonnie aren't friends anymore. But, the main character has new friends and everything works out for her.

It teaches many moral stories in many different ways. Stories are simple to read and understand, but its moral teachings are very deep and serve an important learning in life.

This is a amazing book, it has easily become one of my favorites! It's about a girl, Lily, who is trying to avoid getting schizophrenia (because her mom had it she's high risk). That plan quickly goes away when she meets a baby elephant named Swifty. She risks her life for Swifty, and ends up kidnapping her in order to insure she has a happy, healthy life away form the circus she was currently in. This is such a sweet book. It was one of those books where you wanted to keep turning the pages and keep reading because you really wanted to see what happened.

I am in love with this book. Not only is it interesting and captivating, but it also is very educational in terms of World War 2. The book starts off with Hanneke Baker, whos boyfriend died serving front lines as a soldier. Since then, she has been working in the Black Market, selling illegal goods such as sugar, bread, coffee, and tea by using dead people's rations & and motivated by the drive for money that keeps her family stable. Hanneke is very good at finding things. But when Mrs. Janssen, one of Hanneke's clients, asks her to find a Jewish girl she has been hiding in her house who recently went missing, Hanneke is put on an emotional rollercoaster. Throughout the book, she discovers her own self-worth, and for the first time, allows herself to grieve since the loss of Bas. And all along, Hanneke learns some very shocking truths about the girl Mrs. Janssen had been hiding. This book is excellent and I would highly recommend it!

Cockatiels At Seven

This book is part of a very funny series about a (now) married couple and their extended families. Reading about how the one main character ends up finding dead bodies and "helping" the police keeps one on one's toes. You never know until the end "who done it" and why. Full of laughs, and I didn't want to put it down!

I would recommend this book for grades 8-12. I would also definitely look into the background history and stories behind the inspiration of Orwell writing this book, as it has definitely made the reading experience much better. I truly loved reading this book, and enjoyed the humor as well as plot twists of this book.

Push Girl

Push Girl is a great book about a girl in a wheelchair. Before the accident she loved to dance, and she was always moving around. After the accident she couldn't move her legs at all. She got really sad about it and started to feel down, but her friends helped her. She even ran for homecoming queen! She didn't win, but she was able to raise money for a charity that helped with pinal cord injures and rasing awareness for drunk driving.
