I am in love with this book. Not only is it interesting and captivating, but it also is very educational in terms of World War 2. The book starts off with Hanneke Baker, whos boyfriend died serving front lines as a soldier. Since then, she has been working in the Black Market, selling illegal goods such as sugar, bread, coffee, and tea by using dead people's rations & and motivated by the drive for money that keeps her family stable. Hanneke is very good at finding things. But when Mrs. Janssen, one of Hanneke's clients, asks her to find a Jewish girl she has been hiding in her house who recently went missing, Hanneke is put on an emotional rollercoaster. Throughout the book, she discovers her own self-worth, and for the first time, allows herself to grieve since the loss of Bas. And all along, Hanneke learns some very shocking truths about the girl Mrs. Janssen had been hiding. This book is excellent and I would highly recommend it!

Me And Earl And The Dying Girl

Me And Earl And The Dying Girl is a very good book. It's about a guy in high school, his best friend Earl, and his somewhat of a friend Rachel. I like watching how the main character Greg and Rachel slowly become friends. At first Greg wants nothing to do with Rachel. Then Rachel gets cancer and Greg's Mom forces him to hang out wih her. He does hang out witth her, and they actually somewhat become friends. They actually become better friends than Greg is with Earl. WARNING/ SPOILER ALERT: it is sad in the end (good if you want a heartwarming story.) because Rachel does die. I would recomend it because it's a great story about friendship.

This book is part of a series by Kate Carlisle, about a woman named Brooklyn who restores old books. In the course of her work, somebody is inevitably murdered, and Brooklyn "helps" the police to find the correct killer. (She was once wrongly accused of a murder, so she wants to see justice done.) And in the process of finding who the murderer is, we also learn about restoring books

This book is a graphic novel, so it's a quick and easy read that is also quite fun. It's about two sisters (as well as the rest of the family) when they go on a road trip to a family reunion. A easily-relateable book.

Push Girl

Push Girl is a great book about a girl in a wheelchair. Before the accident she loved to dance, and she was always moving around. After the accident she couldn't move her legs at all. She got really sad about it and started to feel down, but her friends helped her. She even ran for homecoming queen! She didn't win, but she was able to raise money for a charity that helped with pinal cord injures and rasing awareness for drunk driving.

Dead End In Norvelt

I like how the book was realistic fiction, yet it described someones summer as it is. I like how the kid had to endure different things that weren't his fault. I also liked how it went over the history of America (not all of it) so it was also educational.

A Mango Shaped Space

This is a great book about a girl who has synesthesia (meaning numbers and letters have colors as well as sounds). It is beautiful how the author describes what Mia, the main character is seeing. It's lovely to watch Mia become so much more comfortable and confident about her synesthesia.

Goodbye, Perfect

Goobye, Perfect, was a surprisingly good book. The main author's friend runs away and goes into hiding with her boyfriend, who is also her teacher and twice her age! This is a crazy story that has many twists and turns. In the end they find Bonnie (the friend) and she's taken back home. The thing that surprised me is that the main character and Bonnie aren't friends anymore. But, the main character has new friends and everything works out for her.

Your Own Worst Enemy

I really enjoyed this book (much more than expected)! The book follows three people who are all running for student council president. There is Stacey, who has always been involved in student council and is generally a crowd pleaser. There is Julia, who just moved here, yet people seem to love her! Lastly there is Tony, the guy who only cares about chocolate milk. The race tears people and friendships apart.... I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone!

This is the second in a series about four friends and a wedding veil. It supposedly has magic powers that will give you your deepest desire if you wish on the veil. Does it really? Tish Gallagher, a wedding videographer, is about to find out.
